Learn to generate speed! Speed is a valuable element to base running.
The difference between baseball today and baseball during your Grandfather's time is SPEED. The ballplayers today are simply bigger and faster. The faster part is attainable with long term/repetitive work, once you learn the proper fundamentals. Learning to increase your speed is a science.
The average ‘pop time’ in MLB is 2.0 seconds; that is, the time in which the pitch hits the catchers glove to the second that it strikes the glove of the middle infielder at second base. Why is understanding the pop time important? Because we know that in order for the base runner to safely steal second base, he must get there in 3.2 to 3.4 seconds.
Here at Generating Speed, Master Speed Instructor Coach Hall gives athletes the tools to lower their base-stealing time.
